Based in Barcelona and originally from Colombia, Rodriguez is captivated by Earth's dynamic vitality, envisioning it as a constantly evolving living mantle. He conveys the planet's raw energy through paintings in the Portal collection, using natural elements like unrefined linen canvas, black lava paint, gold, and copper leaf to infuse a reflective luminosity. Complementing these are sculptures titled Mantles, resembling undulating ripples of metal, and unique features like a suspended LED light crack resembling lightning. Through these works, Rodriguez pays homage to nature, inviting viewers to contemplate unexplored realms and potential worlds beyond.
