The Core Fine Art presents "DISCOVERING MR. BRAINWASH"

TRADITION REIMAGINED

On September 5, 2024, Discovering Mr. Brainwash opened at the Jonathan Club in Downtown Los Angeles. Held in the Club’s Florentine Lounge, the exhibition featured seven oil paintings and one sculpture, where familiar symbols–like Andy Warhol’s Campbell’s Soup Can–collided with fixtures of the Western art canon. Animated projections of Mr. Brainwash’s motifs illuminated the Lounge’s existing artworks, reconstituting them as sites of revelation.

In a space steeped in tradition, Discovering Mr. Brainwash felt less like a collision and more like a dialogue waiting to happen. A reminder that art–like culture–refuses to be static; instead, it evolves, pulling its own history forward, ever unfinished.
